Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Text: Romans 6:12-13

Please read the whole of Romans 12 bring your questions and comments.

Every day we are controlled by something. By our ego or by the expectations of other people. By fear or guilt or resentment or bitterness or a substance or a habit. Something controls us. Freedom starts the moment you choose what’s going to control you. When you choose Jesus Christ to be your lord, you made him controller of your life. Beloved, when you are mastered by the Master, then you can master everything else. If God is not number one in your life, something else is, and it will control you to a negative degree. When Christ is in control of your life, he will always move you in the right direction.

What are the steps in this choice to let Christ have control?

  1. Admit that you’ve been trying to play God.
  2. Admit that you can’t change on your own.
  3. Humbly ask God to change you.
  4. Be honest with someone else about the things that need to change in your life.
  5. Give Jesus total ownership of your life.
Do you really want to change? Do these things.
Worship and pray.
