Our Daily Devotional [15/06/2018]

My heart is overflowing with the a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Text: Psalm 45:1 If we desire to reap eternal benefits and experience a full life from the Spirit in our mortal bodies, we must “sow” to the Spirit. We do that by focusing our attention on Christ and by reciting his words back to him, for he is our King. The author of this verse had dipped his mind into the depths of Scripture and he “recited” his verses before the king; reciting means he had committed them to memory. Jesus refers to the Word of God as being seed. When we “recite our verses” to our King, we are sowing that seed in the field of our soul and our spirit. As we practice this sowing to the Spirit, he causes the seed of God’s Word to be implanted in our hearts, and then to gestate and grow. This wonderful process brings us new life, enlightenment, strength, wisdom, and peace, all of which will impact our lives in a mighty way. I’ve...

Our Daily Devotional [08/06/2018]

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Text: Proverbs 4:23 Truly, our behavior springs from our hearts! That is why it is critical that we spend time immersed in God’s Word every day. God’s Word will protect our hearts from being consumed with the things of this world. This is the only way we can obtain a perspective which properly balances temporal and eternal concerns in life. This perspective will impact what we do and do not do in this world. We must soak our hearts in the Word of God! And that takes time. I like to call it “heart time.” The ways in which we invest in God’s kingdom are truly a reflection of heart time. It determines where we spend our time, talent and treasure. The more time we spend in God’s Word, the more we realize that the matter of kingdom investing needs to have a high priority in our lives. Heart time influences our desires. Are our minds preoccupied with the desires of the flesh or with the desi...

Our Daily Devotional [01/06/2018]

For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Text: Romans 10:13. What point are you in life? Are you at a place in your life where you need to be saved? Then its time to call out for help! It doesn’t take a special call, all you have to do is ask Jesus and he will save you. You can call over any area of your life: be it a relationship, a financial situation, a health issue, anything; you just have to ask. Be confident to ask. Psalms 91:15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. Please bear in mind, God doesn’t lie. It would be contrary to his character because he is total truth. Also, note that God says you have to do your part and then he’ll do his part. You call, he answers. That’s it. Just call on the name of the Lord: the name Jesus. Now it’s vital to understand that in any rescue operation, the saviour gets to determine the means and method of the operation. I mean, it’s...

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Text: Matthew 6:25 Please read the whole of Matthew 6, bring your questions and comment. Actually, Worry is a matter of control. It’s trying to control the uncontrollable. It says "whatever you can’t control, worry about it". The future is uncertain, so worry about the future? But worry never solves anything! Jesus gave four reasons why you don’t need to worry in his sermon. 4 Reasons why we don't need to worry It is unreasonable to worry:  (Matthew 6:25) read please. Jesus is saying that if it’s not going to last, don’t worry about it. To worry about something you can change is foolish. To worry about something you can’t change is useless. Either way, it’s unreasonable to worry. It is unnatural to worry:  Jesus gives us an illustration from natu...

And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin]. Text: John 8:32 Please read the whole of John 8 Wait a minute! Why is it so hard to do the things you know are the right things to do? No doubt our sinful nature obviously has a role to play in this. The truth is that, after you become a believer, you have this good nature that God has given, but there is also the old sinful nature that is still drawing you. Now, the secret to personal change is not in will-power.  It is not in pills, resolutions and vows either. It is in something you know even the truth you know. When we change the way we think, the way we feel will change and subsequently the way we act. Every self-defeating act is a product of a lie you believed about yourself, your past, future or God Etc. If you want to change the way you live, you have to start to know and believe God's truth. When you know the truth, the truth you know and practi...

Motivational Speech - What is my Destiny?

Sometimes, the best way to keep and retain what we love the most, is to be ready to let go off it first; if it comes back to you, it was meant to be yours, but if it doesn't, then it was never meant to be. This quote can't be less relevant in the baby days of Moses, Israel first prophet and priest. He was born at the time when the Israelites were still in slavery in Egypt, and there was a decree by King Pharaoh that every  male child of Hebrews women (Israelites) should be killed at birth or drowned after birth. He saw the increasing number of the son's of Israel as a threat to him in the latter days, as he perceived that they may become freedom fighter for their people in time to come. Moses as newly born baby then was not to be left out, and his mother just like the other Hebrew women, didn't want to lose their sons, in her own case. She tried to hide him from the nose of the Egyptians, under chances for three months. For the three months, as everyday...

How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wild. Text: Job 8:2 Please read the chapter and bring on your questions and comments. The words that we speak are always a reflection of our hearts and the state of our minds. The most consistent information in our  mindset will determine the base of our life decisions and actions. If our mind is focused on the right things, the right things we'll speak forth. If our mind dwells on negative and lifeless things, dead and dirty words we'll speak forth. By "dead things" I mean none refreshing or gracious words will come out of our mouth. To edify is to build up and this is done through speaking of good words. This is why we need to be mindful of the things we feed our minds with. Because our minds will dwell on them and formulate beliefs and convictions based on such. Avoid feeding your mind with things that tear down and hurt others, so that you don...

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heard my voice. Text: Jonah 2:1-2 Please read the chapter and bring on your questions and comments. Jonah cried out unto the lord from the belly of a whale. What a place to hold a prayer meeting. This teaches us that there is no place on earth where we can not or should not pray. There is no situation we find our self that our God can not solve or that is above prayers. Now the Hebrew for the word" hell' is also rendered 'grave'. So, it's like Jonah was literarily dead and the belly of the whale was his grave. But God heard him and raised him from the dead so to speak. Situations by nature will always be faith intimidating. But the truth is that faith is an over comer. It overcomes every challenging opposition in this life. Your own situ...

Quote of the Day

Being a good father start from respecting the mother of your child. When you disrespect your wife, believe me when I say you are not being a good father to your children, if you keep doing so, with time it will after your children, the love they have for you as their father will start to fade away, if you want your children to respect you, start by respecting your wife. When you feel your wife made a mistake, you shouldn't start shouting at her in the public or in front of your children, call her to other inside, talk to her as your own flesh and blood. I believe she won't try such act again, because when didn't disrespect her by shouting at her in the public, she will learn and improve, but when you shout at her, it will only end in arguments, the desired result will be wasted.
