Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Text: 1 Peter 5:7 Please read the whole of 1 Peter 5 bring your questions and comments. The willpower is not enough to make you stop worrying. To stop worrying let's consider these four things: Get to know God:  If you don’t have a relationship with God, you have every reason to worry. You need to believe in God and know him. Thus as a believer, you can boost of the heavenly Father who has promised to take care of you. Put God first in every area of your life:  Mathew 6:31-33. Anytime you take God out of the center of your life and put anything else there, no matter how good it is, you’re going to worry. Live one day at a time: Mathew 6:34. If you’re worrying about tomorrow, you can’t enjoy today and You'll miss today’s blessings. It’s okay to plan for tomorrow, but you have to live for today. Also, when you’re always worried about tomorrow, the future gets overwhelming. But God will give you the grac...

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Text: Matthew 6:25 Please read the whole of Matthew 6, bring your questions and comment. Actually, Worry is a matter of control. It’s trying to control the uncontrollable. It says "whatever you can’t control, worry about it". The future is uncertain, so worry about the future? But worry never solves anything! Jesus gave four reasons why you don’t need to worry in his sermon. 4 Reasons why we don't need to worry It is unreasonable to worry:  (Matthew 6:25) read please. Jesus is saying that if it’s not going to last, don’t worry about it. To worry about something you can change is foolish. To worry about something you can’t change is useless. Either way, it’s unreasonable to worry. It is unnatural to worry:  Jesus gives us an illustration from natu...

One of the most important things one can do in life is to brutally question every single thing you are taught.

Our Daily Devotional

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Text: Ephesians 6:18 Please read the whole of Ephesians  6 bring your question and comments. I wonder why we should remain persistent in prayers but here are some reasons. Reasons why should remain persistent in prayer Praying Persistently focuses our attention. Praying over and over the same request is not to remind God. He doesn’t need to be reminded like us that God is the source of our answers and needs. If every prayer we ever prayed were instantly answered, two things would happen. First, prayer would actually hurt us because sometimes we pray for things that are not God’s will, or we make mistakes. Second, we would never really develop a deep relationship with God, because he would become just a vending machine. With instant answers when we pray, we would always think of the blessing, but God wants us to think a...

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Text: Romans 6:12-13 Please read the whole of Romans 12 bring your questions and comments. Every day we are controlled by something. By our ego or by the expectations of other people. By fear or guilt or resentment or bitterness or a substance or a habit. Something controls us. Freedom starts the moment you choose what’s going to control you. When you choose Jesus Christ to be your lord, you made him controller of your life. Beloved, when you are mastered by the Master, then you can master everything else. If God is not number one in your life, something else is, and it will control you to a negative degree. When Christ is in control of your life, he will always move you in the ...

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Text: Psalms 37:7 Please read the whole of Psalms 37 bring your questions and comments. Waiting for an answer from God is one of the most uncomfortable position we can be in. What does God expect us to do whilst in this position? It is observed that we can endure waiting as long as we can grumble while we wait? We tolerate waiting as long as we can argue and debate about the last football game of our team. However, God says, “Be still.” but like a child no sooner we get nervous and restless. We feel like getting up and doing something. Yet God says, “Wait patiently. Be still. Watch me act. Don’t get restless, don’t get nervous, and don’t try to take matters into your own hands.” Don’t ever make Abraham’s mistake. It will cause all kinds of problems! Abraham was 99 years old, and childless. He looked at his ...

Pretty words are not always true and true words are not always pretty.

Our Daily Devotional

If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. [His word does not live in our hearts.] 1John 1:8 Please read the whole of 1 John 1 When you are sinning, and thinking that what you are doing will produce better result, you are deceiving yourself. Sin always involves deceit. To stop this self defeating experiences, you must stop deceiving yourself. To do this: Take a honest look at your life. Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. Text: Proverbs 11:4 Please read the whole of Proverbs 11 Surely riches is profitable and riches are profits in life. As far as I know according to the scriptures, riches is better than penury and riches are righteous in itself. In fact, the standard of God for us His children is to be rich and righteous. However, worldly riches are limited in scope of security and durability. It can grow wings and fly away and it can not actually save or deliver on a determined day of judgement. For these reasons it is not to be loved and trusted. It is only best to be used right for the purpose God gives it. (propagating the kingdom gospel). There is only one thing that attracts and keeps true riches; and that is righteousness. It is a gift from God and a dependable security in the day of wrath or judgement. Be clear about this beloved: righteousness exalts, secures and justifies. It is stronger than deat...
