Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I wonder why we should remain persistent in prayers but here are some reasons.
Reasons why should remain persistent in prayer
- Praying Persistently focuses our attention. Praying over and over the same request is not to remind God. He doesn’t need to be reminded like us that God is the source of our answers and needs. If every prayer we ever prayed were instantly answered, two things would happen. First, prayer would actually hurt us because sometimes we pray for things that are not God’s will, or we make mistakes. Second, we would never really develop a deep relationship with God, because he would become just a vending machine. With instant answers when we pray, we would always think of the blessing, but God wants us to think about the Blesser.
- Persistence makes our prayer request clearer. A delayed answer gives us time to clarify exactly what we want and to refine our prayers.
- Persistence separates deep longings from mere whims. It implies, “God, I really care about this.”
- Persistence tests our faith. James 1:3-4 (please read it). The only way to grow into spiritual maturity is to have your faith tested. One of the ways God tests our faith is by delaying some answers to our prayers.
- Persistence prepares our heart for big and better answers. Ephesians 3:20. (Read).
