BarneyMF Blog - Train up a child
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Text: Proverbs 22:6

Please read the chapter

One of the most important phase in life is the childhood phase. Most of the things that we do as adults are the by-effects of our childhood experiences. This is why we need to ensure that our children be taught the right things while they are growing up.

The "right way" to train a child is to bring them up in the things of God. Children are never too young to learn about the gospel. Teach them about Jesus Christ and what He came to do for us on earth. As the child grows, advance the teachings until the child is able to understand the Bible on their own. As a parent, teachers, and leader, pour out as much love, wisdom and knowledge into your children as you can, so that they can grow up to do greater things than you have done. Now, training a child is beyond telling them what to do. Children are keen observers.

They learn from the actions they see on a daily basis. The best way to train a child to live a godly lifestyle is to exhibit godly behaviors not the contrary to our words. Children will ever choose to emulate our actions over our words.

Teach a child to be honest in their ways, by being honest to others.  children are best taught with examples. Inspire with the right examples always. Learn to go to church with your children.
Worship and pray.
