Our Daily Devotional

Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Text: Proverbs 27:5-6.

Please read the chapter and bring on your questions and comments.

It is better to be spanked hard by a true friend who cares, than to be led on the wrong path by someone who applauds you with false and deceitful approvals.
If you base your life on commendations only, refusing any form of correction, you will end up with the wrong people advising you and a bad ending results in life.

Commendation is great. It can boost you, get you motivated, and make you feel good. But if that is blinding you from areas in your life that needs correction, you will find yourself making repeated mistakes. Correction is necessary for our growth as Christians.
We need correction on spirituals to ensure growth in His love and righteousness. We can never know everything or get everything right. When we are corrected, we are alerted to the areas in our lives that we need to work on. When we work on those areas, we become better people.
Correction is often hard to receive, especially from the people that loves us and we love too, but it is worthwhile.

The people who love you will always desire to see you become the best you can be. They correct you more often than not: but those who just want to use you applaud you always. Stop allowing the kisses of users, start enjoying the punches of mentoring. Worship and pray.
