Do not live your live according to impulses inspired by pride and ego. Live humble setting yourself up to succeed. There is no good that can ever come from thinking that we know better than God.
Patiently approach opportunities that come your way. It's better to be ready than setting ourselves up for embarrassment.
Get used to delayed gratification. Although to believe that you deserve to get whatever you want whenever you want it is great, it is not a realistic wise way to live. When this is the case, we're likely to ignore God's instructions and choose to follow our own way: believing that it is far better than the path God has planned out for us.
The truth is: we cannot do anything significantly meaningful without God. Do not live your life on our own terms. Turn not your back on God.
Humility acknowledges God's leadership over our lives. Humility acknowledges that on our own, we are not the super beings we think we are. If we were, we would not have needed God to save us from ourselves. When we choose to humble ourselves under God's leadership, and we choose to follow His guidance instead, we'll certainly walk aright.
When we try to rush the process, we end up delaying it. Our time of recognition or reward will surely come in due time. Worship and pray.
